Taiping Lake Gardens
One can't profess to have visited Taiping without taking a break to absorb the common exellence of the Taiping Lake Gardens. Based on top of a deserted tin mine,the nurseries were opened in 1880, acquiring them a spot in the set of experiences books as the main public nursery in then-Malaya. Tremendous old downpour trees (angsana) line the lake; their branches extending from one stopping point into the water accross, making the ideal scenery for couples taking their wedding photographs.
Spread over 64 hectares, the lake has ten picturesque lakes, a Lotus pool, captivating extensions, paths for running and reflexology, all encompassing tropical
plants, flowers, trees and natural life. For children, a roller-skating rink, paddleboat rides and a jungle gym ensure that the outdoors are more appealing than
the new video game.
Legacy buildings include lavish greenery, including the Old Palace, formerly the residence of the Resident Secretary, the Raja Building, and the residences of officerse of the armed forces. In addition, the nearby Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut) is a perfect location for wilderness travel and outdoors.
